Founded in 2005 as part of La Villa del Valle Group, Vena Cava is a project created by Eileen and Phil Gregory, who decided to share their passion with visitors and friends.
Located in the heart of the Valle de Guadalupe, the winery is surrounded by an impressive mountainous landscape. In this wine region, soil is rich in minerals and climate conditions are ideal since mornings prevail warm in contrast to cool evenings that, coupled with the ocean breeze that protects the vineyard and favors the vines for perfect ripeness.
Vena Cava´s owner and winemaker Phil Gregory, outstands for creating high quality wines sourcing the best grapes from vineyards around different valleys of Ensenada, including his very own organic vineyard.
The winery attracts attention for its unusual and original design by the recognized Mexican architect Alejandro D’Acosta. The ceilings, built from reclaimed fishing boats and other recycled materials, have now a new life and purpose that give Vena Cava a unique touch.
Vena Cava´s wine production focuses in high quality instead of quantity. We consider ourselves a boutique winery, since we carefully supervise every detail during the process of the art of winemaking.
