Vena Cava was founded in 2005, as part of the La Villa del Valle Group, a project in which owners Phil and Eileen Gregory enjoy sharing with visitors and friends.
The winery is located in the heart of the Guadalupe Valley, surrounded by an imposing mountainous landscape. In this region, the soil is rich in minerals, and there is a perfect microclimate, where warm days prevail with mornings and cool afternoons that receive the sea breeze and protect the vineyard from the cold, creating the ideal environment for growth and development Of the grape.
Phil Gregory Winemaker of Vena Cava, has highlighted the creation of high quality wines from the best grapes of the winemaking valleys of Baja California, and those of its own organic vineyard.
The winery that was designed by the Architect Alejandro D'Acosta, stands out for its original design, retaking the use of boats and other materials that today have a new life and purpose.
Our production is oriented to quality and not to quantity, that's why we are a boutique winery, in which we take care of every detail in the process and stages of the elaboration of our wines. We welcome visitors from all over Mexico and the world.
The choice of variety is a matter for the winemaker. According to Phil Gregory, each new wine has its own story to develop. It treats its own vineyards carefully elaborating wines of high quality, with a delicate process of vinification and the best possible grape.
Growing the grapes in our own vineyard is organic, without the use of pesticides or artificial fertilizers. Phil, create reds that enjoy taking and sharing, retaking the elegance of old world wines, with the vitality and fruity of the wines of the new world. Today Phil experiments with different methods of vinification for the creation of natural wines, and fermentation in barrel, achieving a unique balance.
